Kid Stuff’ Recycling: On Saturday, December 6th from 10-2 at Lee/Winn Elementary, PTA will host an event to find homes for gently used clothes, toys, and equipment. Kids grow so fast! And it seems a growth spurt often follows the purchase of new clothes. Items can be dropped off the afternoon of December 5th from 2-4 or contact Melissa – 736-2969 or Ginny – 738-2180 for other arrangements. There’s no need to donate to take advantage of the event! Please drop by and look for items that can find a new home with your kids. Help us recycle! At the end of the day, unclaimed coats will be donated to the Coats for Kids Campaign.
The next meeting will be December 4th, 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM, in the library at Lee/Winn Elementary. PTA is open to all members of the community who support public education of our students. Your membership makes an extra statement to kids about the value you place on their education. Study after study shows that the greater the level of parent and community involvement in a child’s education, the better that child will do in school. PTA’s activities for the students are supported by your dues of $6.25/year. You can be a supporter of SAD 30 PTA even if you can’t make the meetings. Playground Committee will be having a Holiday Shop again this Season. Students are able to buy gifts for $1.00 for family and friends. They will be wrapped by volunteers and sent home with the students before the Winter Break. Donations of gently used items such as toys, knick knacks, household items, (no clothes, please) are greatly appreciated by the Playground Committee. Items for men always seem to be in short supply. Wrapping paper, gift bags, gift boxes and regular boxes are also very useful. If anyone would like to help run the store or gift wrap please contact Paulette Jipson at 738-2453.
Thanksgiving Vacation will run from November 22-28.
